Wednesday, October 12, 2011Introducing OACC's newest Artist in Resident, Judith Kajiwara!
We'd like to welcome Judith Kajiwara, Japanese Butoh Dance Artist as Oakland Asian Cultural Center's 2011-2012 Artist in Resident.
Judith will be introducing various Japanese Butoh workshops as well as ongoing classes starting in Winter 2011, and Spring 2012.
Her upcoming performances will include:
KNEEL TO YOU LIKE A SIGH: A COLLABORATIVE DANCE & POETRY PERFORMANCE, featuring Judith as well as other artists - Steve Nakano, Roy & PJ Hirabayashi of San Jose Taiko, and Yoshie Akiba;
OACC's YEAR OF THE DRAGON LUNAR NEW YEAR FESTIVAL scheduled for February 4, 2012; and
on May 19, 2012, a performance in celebration of ASIAN PACIFIC AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH.
