EBMUD Permanent Exhibit: Chinese Workers and the East Bay's Early Water System
Wednesday, February 27, 2013Permanent exhibit at the East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD)

Check out the East bay Municipal Utility District's permanent exhibit on Chinese Workers and the East Bay's Early Water System! Although Chinese railroad labor in the 1880s has been well documented, this exhibit highlights the tremendous contributions of Chinese men in the participation and construction of the Oakland dams. They worked tirelessly at the Lake Chabot and Lake Temescal dam sites for less than $1 a day throughout the span of 20 years.
Visit this exhibit at the EBMUD 2nd floor and learn about the rich contributions of the Chinese community to the East Bay water system.
